Bioidentical Pellets: Long-Acting Hormone Therapy
Pellets are micro-implants containing bioidentical hormones, inserted under the skin, that release the active substance steadily over 3 to 6 months. The method has been used worldwide for about half a century and is especially common in the Western hemisphere.
What "bioidentical" means
Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to those the body itself produces — unlike a number of synthetic analogues. As a result, their action is more physiological, and steady release from the pellet avoids the concentration "swings" typical of pills and gels.
Who the therapy is for
- women — for symptoms of menopause and perimenopause: hot flashes, sleep disturbances, decreased libido, mucosal dryness, mood swings;
- men — for age-related testosterone decline: reduced energy, libido, muscle mass;
- patients on anti-aging programs — as part of managing hormonal balance.
- Therapy is only decided based on hormonal testing.
How insertion works
Pellet insertion is a short outpatient procedure under local anesthesia: through a tiny incision, the implant is placed under the skin (typically in the buttock or abdomen). The visit takes 45 minutes; no stitches are needed. This is followed by ongoing lab monitoring of hormone levels. Combined with the clinic's other technologies, this method delivers years of comfortable living without "pharmacy dependence."
